Isaac No Katrina, but Packs a Punch

This damage was done by a Category 1 hurricane?  Suddenly those pictures of Isaac, the affable bartender from TV's 'The Love Boat,' which I posted all over Facebook don't seem as funny.  Over 50,000 people have fled their homes with the possibility of the Lake Tangipahoa dam giving way.  I watched video of Braithwaite residents, whose homes are under 10 feet of water, talk calmly and matter-of-factly about how 'you get used to it.'  More than 900,000 people are without power in Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Thankfully there has been only one reported fatality so far, a tow truck driver attempting to clear debris on a road in Mississippi when he was struck by a falling tree.

The hardest part is not the storm itself, it's the recovery and cleanup.  Our neighborhood was left without power for almost a month after Ike!  We still have 3 months of hurricane season left, so get your emergency kit together now, and don't be caught in this situation.
