Texas minimum auto liability limits will increase to $30,000 for bodily injury or death to one person in one accident, $60,000 for bodily injury to or death of two or more people in one accident and $25,000 for physical damage to or destruction of others property on January 1, 2011. The limits will not have to increase on existing policies until they renew.
Adams Insurance recommends that you carry liability limits in excess of these minimum limits, at least $100,000/$300,000/$100,000.
UPDATE: The Texas Department of Insurance has announced that these changes will take effect on existing policies as of January 1, 2011. According the limits will automatically increase. Moreover, the TDI has mandated that there be no charge for this increase of limits until renewal.
